If you want to make a change to your website, you have a couple choices. You can call us and ask us to make the change, or, if you know how to do it, you can make the change yourself.
If we make the change for you, we charge a small amount for our time. Some changes take a few minutes, like a paragraph change, and others take longer, like adding several pages with pictures or interactive forms.
If you plan to make a few changes rarely, it's normally more cost-effective and all-around-easier to have us do it for you. Then, you don't have to learn webpage design.
But there is an alternative, and if you plan to make regular changes to your website, we can set up your website to use Content Management. Simply speaking, Content Management is a collection of specially coded pages and a database that run on our site that you can access to make changes. It's as simple to use as filling out forms on a web page.
Content Management comes at an additional cost, so you have to choose what's best for you. Typically, people host their websites on one of our Content Management servers, and they pay a monthly fee for this added capability.
You can find numerous platforms that offer Content Management these days. We are pleased to design sites in DotNetNuke, an extremely well-supported open source framework based on Microsoft technology. DNN gives clients incredible power at a fraction of the costs of purchasing a proprietary system.
Typo3 is another system we have used extensively. If you currently have a Typo3 site and would like to brush up your knowledge of Typo3 site maintenance, feel free to take a look at the sub-pages here. more...
